The holidays are over

Now that I have survived the holidays, it is time to focus on my goals for 2011.  I have been thinking and my plan will be a duathlon in May, 5k in May (local one that we enjoy), 2 or 3 mini triathlons in summer, sprint tri in September, Hartford CT half marathon in October and (hopefully) the Disney half next January!
Running has been good as of late.  The cold thing I had finally left and I have been back on pace.  I did 5 miles on Christmas eve, beautiful weather, 34 and sunny; and I got 4.75 in on the treadmill today.  We are having a snow storm with high winds and blizzard warnings, so the treadmill was the best option.  Chris, my husband is running the goofy challenge in Disney in less than 2 weeks and I am praying for good weather and clear skies for marathon weekend!

Feeling a little ill

I have had this cold/cough for a few weeks now and it just will nit go away. I have a nasty cough and congestion. I ran 3.25 on Wednesday and the breathing was rough, had to slow my pace a bit. Yesterday I did 40 min in the endurance setting on our elliptical, and I felt nauseous at the end. I think part of it is the change in the weight watchers program. I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks, but I am feeling carb deprived. The new plan is higher protein lower carbs. I need to try to have more balance with my food choices. Hopefully that combined with getting rid of this illness and I will be on track and running more!

Nothing new here... Ran 5 miles outside on Sunday at 8:50-9min mile pace which is good for me. I had stomach cramping the last 2 miles which made it a little rough. I got in 30 min on the bike at the gym Monday night at work and another 30 min on the elliptical Tuesday evening. Today I worked nights and had to be back for meetings this afternoon into the evening, long day! No workouts for me, I'm beat. On a side note, weight watchers changed their program this week and after many years as a lifetime member, I am thrown for a loop. I think it will take a few weeks to adjust.
I am hoping to get a run in tomorrow, hopefully outside.
